Imee Marcos, die Schwester von Präsident Marcos ist im Gespräch, ob sie im nächsten Jahr für die Bürgermeisterwahl in Manila kandidiert. Dazu befragt, äußert sie sich ausweichend, schloss eine Kandidatur aber auch nicht aus.
Zitat:“I still don’t know if I will be joining (the administration lineup),” she said. “I could see the slates of different political parties. I think there will be about 50 vying for Senate seats. So I’m confused.”

Als Senatorin hat sie Entscheidungen ihres Bruders auch teilweise kritisiert. Beispielsweise die Aufnahme von Afghanen, die vor dem Umsturz durch die Taliban bei den US-Amerikanern beschäftigt waren.
Ob sie kandidieren wird, muss man also mal abwarten.
