Am vergangenen Dienstag verstarb 88-jährig Doa Bea Zobel de Ayala. Ihr weitgehender Einfluss steckte auch hinter dem bemerkenswerten Erfolg der Ayala Corp. - eines der ältesten und der größten Konglomerate auf den Philippinen.

Das Manila Bulletin hat unter dem Titel "Die ruhige Kraft von Doa Bea Zobel de Ayala" viel über ihr Leben geschildert. Unter anderem hat sie sich oft mit den Iraya Mangyans, den Ureinwohnern der Philippinen getroffen, ihr Vertrauen gewonnen und sie unterstützt.

Now, the Iraya Mangyans have a home, complete with a school and clinic run by the Sisters of Charity of St. Anne.
